H/T to WUZZADEM for this one.

Scott Kirwin over at Dean's World posted today about George Lucas.

In the interest of full disclosure, I love the whole STAR WARS thing, though I do agree with Kirwin on the position he takes with regard to Lucas and his political philosophy. This paragraph is a grand slam all its own ...

Limousine liberals are disappointing. Many of them come from hardscrabble backgrounds and struggled to succeed against the odds. Now that they've made their billions however, they spend their time trying to take apart the ladder they used to get to the top. Instead of advocating for the system that allowed them to use their creativity to succeed, they support systems that stifle it - and yes, socialism stifles creativity. Nothing builds ambition more than freedom, yet to people like Lucas, Michael Moore, Barbara Streisand and Jane Fonda freedom is a prison. Democracy is bad because people don't know what's good for them. They need an elite to save them from their own selfish interests.

I don't know if it could be said better by anyone. Nice hit, Scott!
