For a little insight into the next front in the War on Terror, check out this quote I found today over at Moonbattery:

If you want to have good relations with the Iranian people in the future, you should acknowledge the right and the might of the Iranian people, and you should bow and surrender to the might of the Iranian people. If you do not accept this, the Iranian people will force you to bow and surrender.
This is exactly the kind of talk that landed Saddam Hussein a nice cozy prison cell and some pretty serious war crimes trials. He's saying the we have to bow and surrender to the Iranians, or they will force us to do so?

Besides, this asshole is a dictator. What the fuck does he know or care about the Iranian people?

I know China gets a lot of oil from Iran, but somehow I doubt they will bow to the might and will of the Iranians. Just a hunch.

China sends a lot of weapons to Iran. How can you say they haven't already bowed to their will when they provided so much of their might?

I would have to check on China's sending Iran weapons, I was unaware, but I will say that we have also given them weapons in the past when we used to operate on the philosophy that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Not withstanding that, I still doubt China would bow to the Iranians. Giving weapons for oil is one thing, surrendering without battle is a whole other thing. I believe that the Russians get oil from Iran and I don't think they would bow down either.

We won the cold war aginst the Russians because our credit was better. They conceded because they could not spend or borrow another dime, not because they wanted to. I have often been accused of being an idealist (as though that's a bad thing), but that does not stop me from seeing the reality of a situation. Talk to you soon.

We won the cold war against the Russians because of our freedom - plain and simple. Communism and socialism are evil schemes that rob people of this basic human yearning.

As for the Chinese, make no mistake about it - they will side with Iran when the Iran phase of the war breaks out, either publicly or privately. They are long-standing enemies of the United States just like Ahmagaynutjob.

This war cannot be fought and won in the short time many liberals seem to want it to. It may have to do with their inability to understand that many enemies are so formidable that they require long campaigns lasting many years (WWII raged on for two years before we even got involved).

This enemy will be even more difficult to defeat, because he hides among innocents, and does not adhere to the Geneva Conventions. He deliberately targets civilians and executes them by hand. His objective is simple: convert the world to his Islamofascist worldview, and destroy anyone that refuses - painfully. It is this aspect of our enemy's philosophy that makes this war so crucial. The terrorists must be shown that our resolve is greater, or you might as well have your wife and daughters fitted for burquas.

China will definitely side with Iran if they think their oil supply is in jeopardy. Something the Iranians no doubt remind the Chinese of. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. But that is not surrendering, rather it is protecting their own "vital interests." I need to look into this Iran/China connection a bit more, then I'll have more to say.

p.s. nice pic of Delay (aka last year's Halloween costume!)

The DeLay pic is perfect, and it speaks volumes about the unfair treatment he's received.

China will side with Iran regardless of their oil supply. LIke I said, their government's communist worldview is completely at odds with our freedom here in America. They would side with anyone who had a fighting chance of beating us.

Oh, and the scenario you presented is the exact kind of surrender the Iranians are looking for. I strongly disagree with you on that.

On a side note, doug, I am really enjoying your contributions to the RWRepublic so far.

Even though you are wrong, you are fair and thoughtful.

Fair and thoughtful liberals are a dying breed.
