After reading Omar's recent post at ITM regarding the recent attempt by The Lancet to send some extra votes the Donks' way, I decided to have a look around. I found a few posts in the Liberal blogosphere, and chose to comment on a couple of the more rabid ones that defended this bogus study. Here is an example of one of these posts, in which moonbat blogger Tim Lambert basically quotes one of the defenders of this piece of shit. Notice the Kool-Aid being sipped away in the comment area.

Any deniers want to go try to prove that Saddam's kill rate was equal or more than what is happening now?

Of course, the Iraqis are better off now than before the invasion. Why go about making up inflated numbers about Iraqi deaths except to use them in some way as leverage in an upcoming election?

The Iraqis aren't living in Paradise, but they are certainly better off than they were during the Saddam regime. These people are so wrapped up in their self-hate they can't get past the fact that in order to earn freedom, the Iraqis will have to sacrifice some of their own. For what cause did the 400,000 Iraqis found in mass graves die? For what cause did the many Iraqis tortured and/or killed by Saddam suffer and/or die? Unless the Iraqis ultimately win their freedom, all of that suffering and death is in vain. Never mind the fact that these people are assuming that every violent death in Iraq has come at the hands of the US military. Still, they're willing to spout bullshit in order to defend their idiotic position.

Rightwingrocker you are an accomplice to genocide. The increase in the mortality rate is actually mirrored in the reported deaths. The study fills in the unreported deaths to a very high probablity. The american conservatives have always been anti science. Look how they fight global warming, and evolution.

When I got up off of the floor, it still took me a few minutes to stop laughing. Suffocation nearly set in. Here they compare "unreported" deaths after the invasion to just the "reported" deaths during the Saddam regime, and I'm an "accomplice to genocide" for taking an opposing position. I'd be able to more justly say the same about them had they succeeded in stopping the war. "Think Tank" can go fuck himself. In my response, I quoted Omar without giving the source.

When I read the report I can only feel apathy and inhumanity from those who did the count towards the victims and towards our suffering as a whole. I can tell they were so pleased when the equations their twisted minds designed led to those numbers and nothing can convince me that they did their so called research out of compassion or care.

Would you call the person who wrote this an "accomplice to genocide"?

Conservatives are not anti-science. Quite the contrary, we require real proof, just like real scientists do. Your examples of "global warming" and evolution are perfect examples.

For wanting real proof before we buy into global warming or evolution, conservatives are "anti-science". That was cute, wasn't it? I wonder what this idiot's response will be to Omar's statement. I wonder if he'll even catch on that I forgot to edit out the word "our", which actually surrenders Omar's identity as an Iraqi, and replace it with "[the]" or "[the Iraqis']".

For people like "Think Tank", who can't resist digging and digging at the risk of losing their fingernails in the hopes of finding the most miniscule excuse for avoiding the truth about their lost (and rightly so) agenda, I can't help but feel pity. At the same time, there are plenty of places in the world they could move to that would be more than happy to attempt to give them the socialist utopia they so desire. They'd be welcomed with open arms (though getting out might not be so easy), and treated to the real world of the socialism they so desire. Unfortunately, I doubt they'd want to stay. I know I wouldn't.
