At first glance, it would seem pretty encouraging that the Democrats would try to "wipe out" earmarks. Of course, if you read a little more closely, that's not the case at all.

"I'm glad the Democrats are taking a time-out on pork-barrel spending," said Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C. "It's refreshing to hear them say they are going to reform the earmarking process to make it transparent and accountable."

In other words, there will still be mad earmarks. This policy is merely aimed at making the process more "transparent and accountable".

I have news for you clowns on Capitol Hill: You nitwits should be doing away with ALL unconstitutional spending, regardless of whether it's part of the original bill or a so-called "earmark". What you're doing here is mere smoke in mirrors. You're still going to spend us into oblivion and tax us to death. What the fuck is the difference between that and what we have now? That we can acually SEE how deep and hard we're being fucked? You morons have no shame.

They said some of the money set aside in the pending bills for home- state earmarks will be shifted to programs Democrats feel have been shortchanged by Bush's budget, such as health research, education and grants to local law enforcement agencies.

Congress does not have the power to do any of these things with American taxpayer money.

I think these idiots, Democrat and Republican alike, need to sit down and read the Constitution a few times. Maybe as a punishment we should have them copy it out by hand fifty times each. Do you think they might get the picture then?
