SCOTUS's Second Amendment Ruling
Thursday, June 26, 2008
DC can't ban handguns. Neither can anyone else.
This is a basic tenet of a free society. The right to defend oneself against those who would deprive him of his rights. I disagree with the position that the Second Amendment can be limited, especially in today's climate where the government is increasingly intrusive. After all, who will protect us from the government if the same government has the right to tell us which guns we can and cannot have.
Still, this ruling is going to piss off the liberals. I can't wait to go over to Democratic Underground and read the whining there. Not a perfect day, but a good day for freedom-loving Americans, to be sure!
