Trenton Stomps on the Second Amendment - AGAIN

Monday, January 05, 2009

This is bullshit.

For electing these felons, New Jersey voters should be jailed. Just go down the list of everyone who votes YEA on this and get the voting records of everyone in the state. A vote for any of these losers should get the voter some jail time. Enough is enough.

New Jersey could soon become the fourth state to limit handgun purchases to one a month, a move aimed at fighting "straw" gun buyers who purchase weapons legally and pass them to criminals.
Bullshit.

It's aimed at fighting innocent people who don't want to become victims of crime, especially the kind of crimes that are consistently being committed onthe people of New Jersey by the ever more corrupt politicians in Trenton.
The plan, backed by officials in Camden, Newark, Jersey City and other cities, follows calls from urban leaders across the nation, including Philadelphia, to crack down on gun trafficking that they say fuels violence.
As if officials in these cities have any clue how to fight crime. Just look at the murder rates there. Would YOU want to be roaming the streets of South Camden without packing heat?
There is much debate over whether such laws work, however, and opponents say a limit would infringe on a constitutional right in a state that already has rigorous screenings for gun buyers.
You want to know if these laws "work"? Just look at the crime rate in places like Camden and Newark. It doesn't get much more restrictive than it already is in New Jersey.

And yes ... in a state that already has rigorous ILLEGAL screenings for gun buyers.
Gov. Corzine, who sponsored a similar plan in the U.S. Senate, has said he will "absolutely" sign the bill into law if it reaches his desk.
There aren't many governors more corrupt in this country than Jon Corzine. The guy is as deep in the pockets of organized crime as Blago.
"How many guns does somebody need to purchase in a month?" Corzine asked.
With Corzine in the Governor's Masion, as many as somebody can get his hands on. Where exactly does this asshole get off assessing the defense needs of others? It's none of his fucking business.
Only California, Maryland and Virginia have one-gun-a-month restrictions. South Carolina had a similar law for nearly 30 years but repealed it in the face of criticism that it had proved ineffective.
Typical socilaists. Prove something ineffective, and they want more of it. Is it any wonder conservatives are pissed?
Gov. Rendell called for a one-handgun-per-month measure in Pennsylvania, but it was blocked. Philadelphia approved its own version and saw it struck down in court.
Good for those who blocked it - and even better for the citizens of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania as a whole.

As it is in this state, there are already so many of these stupid laws that the Second Amendment might as well have been printed on toilet paper.

Get ready for more of this, too, as the very Republicans and Democrats that Americans trust to make good laws have no respect whatsoever for the law. If they did, they wouldn't thumb their noses so obnoxiously at this, the single most important law in this country.

First, take it easy on Corzine. He put out millions of his own money to buy his senate and govenor elections and now he is just trying to make a profit on them. That's capitalism 101.

Second, how many guns do you need a month? This is an easy question since you have shown no attempt to date to properly use any guns on your duly elected officials who are robbing you with taxes and fees and taking away your rights, to guns and I'm sure free speech and the right to associate with whom you want to. If you aren't going to use said guns properly, you don't really need to buy a lot of them, do you?

Besides, what are you doing in South Camden besides looking for hookers and drugs. This will keep you out of those areas without a lot of expensive police and court work, thereby reducing crime. It' really a win-win situation all around.

Finally, isn't this stuff more appropriate to discuss on April first?

I hear you. I know in NJ the situation is too serious for a lot of joking around. Guess I was just in a good mood today.

People like this seem to be able to talk themselves in any stupid thing without once trying to find out if similar or opposite policies have been used anywhere else and what the results of those policies where. They never consider their policy wrong, just not strong enough or too local to have the 'proper' effect. I expect that NJ might be the first state to head the way of England in going after the good citizens and coddling the bad ones.

They should just go to a gun range and see how polite everyone gets. It is probably the nature of the peolple, but why start a fight with someone armed?

2009-01-06T17:12:39
Ok, let's lock up people who don't agree with us. Sounds smart.

Disagreeing with us is one thing.

Openly violating one of the most important laws ever passed is yet another.

Encouraging said violation is no better.

The 2nd Ammendment right to keep and bear arms is more than a law. It is an essential constitutional requirement so that people remain free. As noted on another blog, "Who is going to shut me up if I have a gun?"

Arms will keep safe all of the constitutional rights that each one of us should hold dear. To vote or take any action to take away that right should include prison time.

2009-01-06T17:52:22
Bingo TomJW, and exactly why I just made my first (not my last) gun purchase (in PA) last week.

Safety and defense are why I will take gun safety and shooting courses, and practice regularly.

My freedom, is why I exercised my 2nd ammendment right at this crucial time.

2009-01-06T18:07:59
The taking away of individual freedom is incremental - like eating an elephant. One bite at a time.

If New Jersey would just make laws saying it is illegal to use a gun in a crime, all would be better.
Our problem is that we don't have enough laws.

"If guns cause crime, all of my guns are defective " Ted Nugent.

Rwr, why is America so afraid to point out who and where are gun problems are??
I mean it would appear most gun violence and mayhem happens in BLUE area's. And it seems so very much of this crime is being perpetrated by certain "demographics". Yet there seems to be no apparent "focus" on these "demographics" in the media.

2009-01-06T21:50:26
Gus, there won't be any "focus" on these demographics in the media. It runs contrary to the left's goal. They don't seem to understand that when the left gets to the ideal point they take over all media outlets and these Bozos are out.

2009-01-06T22:00:06
If New Jersey would just make laws saying it is illegal to use a gun in a crime, all would be better.

New Jersey already HAS that law - plus a whole bunch of laws that enable criminals and make the other useless.

I understand the need for guns for protection but, do you really need more than one gun per month? I mean if you are using a gun purely for self-defense, do you really need more than one gun? Are you guys walking around like Rambo with guns covering your whole body?

As a resident of Philadelphia, I see and hear about gun violence all of the time. More times than not, these guns have been obtained illegally. This is simply an attempt to control gun violence. Also, I don't own a gun and never will and I seem to be doing fine with only my street smarts.

2009-01-07T01:19:58
The bottom line, Shoes, is that it isn't anybody's business how many guns you or I or anyone else decides we need or in what time frame. We have the right to all that we can acquire, period.

Living in Philadelphia, you should know better. Gun violence is running rampant there, and all because there is an abundance of victims available who, out of deference to whatever laws have been passed, are unarmed.

The only thing these laws do is make it more difficult for the victims to arm themselves, while the criminals, disregarding the law in the first place, simply arm themselves as they wish (just like the rest of us SHOULD).

Furthermore, the criminals we really need the guns for aren't even the street criminals who seek unarmed victims in the streets. It's the criminals in places like Trenton, Harrisburg, and Washington, DC who will eventually use the power of their handy-dandy armed forces (the military and police forces) to force us to submit to their will - all because we just went along with their efforts to disarm us.

Don't think it can happen that way? Ask the Germans, the Russians, the Cubans, and a whole slew of others who have already gone through it. What's happening here right now isn't all that different from what happened in those places in their times. There's plenty of evidence that I'm right on the money about this, but even if I'm not, do you really think it's wise to be taking that chance, especially with so many state governments (including New Jersey and Illinois) having such deep ties to organized crime?

If someone wants to make all their gun purchases for the year/decade/life in one month, why is it the business of the government? The same if they want to sell them too.

Y'all are a bunch of scared little boys just waiting for society to fall so you can run around killing things like what happened after Katrina. If you become a cop you won't have to wait. Better yet, join the "war on terra" and visit the shooting range that is Iraq. You can satisfy your malevolent fantasies by murdering everything that moves. Dogs, women, babies, women holding babies...
Never mind that Jesus doesn't give a rat's ass about your guns and your excuses. Keep spreading THE FEAR and nurturing your cowardice and you will take your rightful spot alongside the Fallen One.

2009-01-07T20:54:35
Cowardice?

For standing up for what is right instead of just letting oppressors take what is rightfully ours?

Spare me the Jesus bit. The right is granted by God and guaranteed by the Constitution. These nitwits have no business whatsoeve infringing upon the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

RWR

If cops don't have to wait, why should we?

They're likely the ones we will need to defend against, in many circumstances.

"They're likely the ones we will need to defend against, in many circumstances."

Here you are correct.
Now for you to understand that you ARE a cop. You are the bastard that good citizens need to be concerned about.

And I won't spare you the "Jesus bit". How convenient to ignore God when you feel like it. There is no escaping the consequences of what you call "the Lord's work". Jesus really hates it when people commit evil in his name. Better pack the aloe vera, RWR.

2009-01-08T04:34:20
Who said I was a cop?

For all you know, I could be a teacher, an IT technician, or even a musician.

I have not ignored God. It just so happens that the right to defend oneself and one's rights come directly from God. No one is committing evil in Jesus' name simply by insisting that his God-given rights are respected.

Much to your obvious chagrin, I AM one of the good citizens of this country, and I AM championing the rights of each and every one of them, should they choose to exercise those rights or not.

What are you championing? The right of the government to abridge those very rights. Must the history learned in the Twentienth Century be repeated yet again for you to learn the dangers of disarming the populace?

The thing that is really bothersome about your comments is that you haven't made a case for whatever position you have. All you've done is come around here and call us scared little boys, malevolent, murderers, fearmongers, cowards, bastards, and ignorant of God. All without a single fact to back up your claims, and all for simply (and rightly) taking a stand against those who wish to destroy the rights our forefathers so selflessly sacrificed to protect.

If you aren't going to make a case, you're coming to a gunfight armed with a slingshot, and you will be no match for those who come here in the proper frame of mind. You can start by explaining by what authority the criminals in Trenton do this, and how it's in line with the Second Amendment, and the Founders' intent.

Until you can do that, your comments will no longer be welcome. This is not a place for people to vent their foolishness, but rather a place where people have reasonable discourse. If all you're going to do is play the name game, your comments will henceforth be deleted - or maybe left here for the dogs to have at you.

I live in a nation with lots and lots of gun laws and gun bans. As we speak a man is holding three people hostage, and he is armed with a shotgun.

We have had armed robberies galore, shootings, murders with guns, home invasions with guns, carjackings with guns, and a few months ago we had a gangland shootout in the middle of a shopping mall.

NINETY THREE PERCENT of all gun crimes committed are with illegal guns, and I might also add that our police add suicide in as a "gun crime".

Two days ago a man held up a bank with an illegal gun.

Day before that, a man shot a woman with an illegal gun

Week before that, 200 rounds were pumped into a house.

We have gun crimes in this city every single day, and speaking as someone who knows, I defy you to prove to me in any way shape or form that a ban on guns will result in anything else other than a massive rise in crime.

The NSW police have admitted openly that they are helpless to prevent the flow of illegal guns, up to and including machine guns and..I kid you not..rocket launchers, into the city.

Meanwhile the citizens are banned from even carrying a knife for self protection.

Go ahead, argue with me. I live in a nation that is acting the way you want, and the citizens are prisoners in their own homes.

You, sir, are a fool.

Didn't NEED help. Still would love your two cents. These people think that they have some huge majority of people on their side, so driving home the fact that they aren't standing on the firm ground they think they are is both invigorating for us and sobering for them.

Please come back often, and leave your opinion wherever possible, even if you disagree. We love spirited debate here as long as it's reasoned and serious (though we do enjoy sarcasm). Glad to have you as a reader.

April,

I'm not sure I know what the heck you meant by that. Many a cop is as corrupt as his bosses, and to hate cops is, in my opinion, understandable. Most cops are called upon to enforce laws that were passed illegally and intrude upon the God-given rights of the people, and they do it.

By this do I mean that it's ok to hate cops for the sake of hating cops? Of course not. I believe in the power of the individual, as everyone who comes here knows. If an individual cop has earned hate, then he gets it.

Fair enough?
