That's been my point from the get-go.

These military blunders, especially given the swiftness and perfection of the initial effort in Iraq, reveal that there is much more to this than meets the eye.

We've had problems with Muslim extremists as long as we have been a nation. At some point, we will have to take a stand. It is similar to slavery in that regard - we keep passing it on to the next generation, and eventually, the piper will have to be paid with the blood of patriots, just as with our passing on of the ideal of slavery when our nation was in its infancy.

Slavery has been dealt with. Now it is time to deal with Muslim extremists - or is it? What constitutes the greatest threat to our nation? Muslim extremists? Socialism? The ignorance of the American people to the threats posed by both of these?

Ignorance is bliss, but it is also the downfall of many a great nation. God help us avoid it being ours.
