Jimmy Ellis
1937-2012

The Sound of Philadelphia has today lost yet another of its great voices. This time, hitting us right here at the RWRepublic, as we have this time lost a personal friend.

The Lead singer for the Trammps', Jimmy Ellis's voice is well-known. Most of their hits, including DISCO INFERNO, featured his amazing tenor. Jimmy was also an amazing person. He will be missed by all whose life he touched.

Jimmy, may you rest in peace.

In 1975, I have spoken Jimmie Ellis and Rusty. They were with their group in the Netherlands. They then entered into the Krasnapolsky. I was there with a friend went to it and when we all band members have spoken. We have all of them got an autograph. I have very good memories of the group the Trammps. I thought it was to read that Jimmy Ellis is deceased. I wish all friends and family of Jimmy Ellis very much strength. The Trammps and O jays at that time belonged to my favorites. A lot of strength from the Netherlands!
Thanks, Dick.

Jimmy was a friend to everyone he met.
